Interesting Read: Brown Ale over at All About Beer
Want to know more about what's so special about Brown Ale? I know I do. All About Beer has a nice little piece on Brown Ales including origins, characteristics and a few classic examples.
Anybody have a favorite brown ale? (He asked knowingly ;-)
Limiting myself, if only due to experience, to beers brewed stateside, I really enjoy Troegs Nut Brown and Bell's Best Brown, which its seems are both classed (at least on BA) as English Brown Ales, though IMO they are fairly different brews.

Not too sure about American Brown Ales...
Over the weekend I tasted the brown ale from Legend Brewing of NC. It was one of the best I've had.
