Bryan's Notes
The Look:
- deep, golden-bronze
- 1-finger head, fades quite slowly
- slickness on walls
The Aroma:
- holy hoppy aroma!
- like standing in the hop room at Anchor, while crushing hops in your hands, and inhaling!
The Taste:
- wet (not watery)
- hop bitterness throughout
- surprisingly short finish
- biting bitterness, like Arrogant Bastard, though not as slick/oily/cloying
- reminiscent of Double Simcoe from Weyerbacher in its awesome hop presence
- more malt-balanced than Victory's Hop Wallop
The Verdict: I preferred this a bit on the cooler side just out of the refrigerator. This has some characteristics of Weyerbacher's Double Simcoe, Stone's Arrogant Bastard, and Victory's Hop Wallop. With these traits, how can you go wrong? Shoulda grabbed two :(
