Beer at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA
With the post-World Series buzz still just barely wearing off, Sunday afternoon at the Flyers game in South Philly was a tame affair. With so many wandering through their personal Phillies hangover, I couldn't even find a taker for my other seat at the game. So I got a little extra legroom and decided to dedicate 6 minutes of game time to cruising the empty concourses taking inventory of the better beer scene at the Flyers' Wachovia Center home.
What I found was a scene that is slightly less impressive than Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles nest, and miles behind Citizens Bank Park, home of the Champion Phillies and World-Class Beer.
Prices appeared to range from $6.75 to $7.50 for a 16 ounce plastic cup based on quality (at least in someone's judgment). I really had no plans of having a beer, since none that I saw really tripped my trigger...'til I saw the lonely portable stand with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale tap handle on the second level. Thankfully, it poured just fine and tasted as I'd expect.
Otherwise, there's a smattering of Red Hook, Hoegaarden, and Blue Moon. The others listed below show up at even less concession stands. As for the blandest of the "mainstream" beers, Bud, Bud Light, and Miller Light dominate most tap handles.
If your experience is different during a concert, a Sixers basketball game, or Flyers hockey game, feel free to drop a note in the comments or a private e-mail to me.

Joe Sixpack was having some new "beer garden" event at the sixers game last week. Why can't we get some quality local stuff like the Phillies'?
