Beer Ads: Rolling Rock offensive?
Rolling Rock is creating waves now that it's under the wings of marketing behemoth, Anheuser-Busch. Uh, funny I suppose...whatever....
Opinions?

I was not offended. I watched it twice because I was not sure what people might be offended by. However, I do not have any kids... so I am not all that worried about what is on TV.
As a long time Rolling Rock drinker (before I had a whole new beer world opened up to me thanks to Adam and Bryan)..I was in no way offended by the ad. Kathleen
This is a marketing ploy by AB. i just found this online "he campaign, which includes two Web sites, is centered on consumer complaints about ads that don't exist and never aired, sources said.
Ads will star a fictional bumbling A-B marketing executive apologizing for the ads and marketing decisions he's made. And consumers will have the opportunity to search the Web for pieces of the story--all the massive marketing mistakes the character makes and the offensive material--and pass them around virally, sources said. "His ads are way over the top," described one source. Two Web sites will offer the perspective from both the brand loyalists and the fictional marketing executive."

I don't see anything offensive about it, and I do have kids! ;) Besides aren't beer commercials usually on at night, after the kids go to bed?

I too do not see a reason why this is considered offensive. Maybe it's just a ploy to get more attention...
Rolling Rock was already kinda "hip". Be interesting to see where A-B is gonna take the brand. Sun, bikinis, and gorillas can't be all bad, eh? ;-)
